3D Making

Maker Playground’s newest series, 3D Making, is a two-part program that includes two class sessions: Intro to Solidworks and 3D Printing. All classes will be hosted at Fishers Parks’ Maker Playground facility at 8100 E. 106th Street, Fishers, IN 46038.

Intro to Solidworks

Saturday, September 20

What: The Intro to Solidworks CAD course covers the basic skills required to begin using the software as a tool to bring your design concepts to life. Students will learn how to navigate the software, create simple parts and assemblies, and about the 3D design approach in general. The course is intended to establish a base of knowledge to build upon with their own projects and self-study.
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ages: 16+ Cost: $30 residents ($45 non-residents)

What: Learn the basics of 3D printing and how to prepare and print parts on Maker Playground’s Ultimaker 3D printers. We’ll cover a little history, general 3D printing info, materials, machine safety and operation, and what it takes to produce a successful print on our specific machines.
Time: 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Ages: 16+ Cost: $30 residents ($45 non-residents)
