About Our Space
Fishers Parks’ Maker Playground is a 15,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, public makerspace located at Hub&Spoke, directly adjacent to the Fishers Parks HQ in the same building. Maker Playground offers a fully equipped woodshop, CNC router, 3D printers, metal shop, CNC plasma table, laser cutters, and more. Complementing this space are three classrooms that may be rented or used for classes and events.
Maker Playground is here to encourage S.T.E.A.M.-based experiential learning, experimenting, and community building through limitless tinkering, constructing, and engineering to residents of Fishers, Indiana, and surrounding areas.
Maker Playground membership welcomes makers ages 16+. For younger makers, keep an eye out for our classes and programs! We partner with educators, artists, and industry leaders in the community to introduce hands-on learning through classes, camps, drop-ins, and other programming for makers of all ages.

What is a makerspace?
Makerspaces are community spaces equipped with various tools, software, machinery, and technology depending on the community’s needs. Members often come in with a goal in mind: to learn some woodworking, make a cutting board, fix a broken dresser, etc. Here, with the guidance of knowledgeable staff and fellow makers, many catch the “maker” bug and keep coming back to tackle more and more projects!
A makerspace also builds a community of makers who are driven to create, collaborate, and share techniques or ideas with each other. When you join a makerspace like Maker Playground, you also join an encouraging community of makers that are generous with their knowledge and contagious maker spirit.
Who is a maker?
Whether you’re a beginner or professional, a maker is anyone who makes! A maker uses creativity or problem-solving to turn ideas into tangible objects. Some examples of makers may be programmers, engineers, designers, artists, or crafters, but our goal at Maker Playground is to make it accessible for anyone to become a maker! All you need to get started is some imagination and curiosity.
