Learn how to square or round dance with Do-Si-Squares, a Fishers Parks Community Professional Partner! With a variety of classes for a range of skill levels, the Do-Si-Squares crew can get you started in a new hobby or help you pick up where you left off with previous instruction.
This introductory square dancing class run every Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Roy G. Holland Memorial Park building.
$21/person for 3 weeks of classes | Ages 13+
The cost of registration covers all three weeks of classes through the month of September. Open to those age 13 and older, class dates for this series are October 2, 9, and 16.
Advanced Round Dance Lessons - A partner is required! Round dancing is ballroom dancing with a “cure” who calls out choreographed moves, like a navigation system for the ballroom dance floor. Classes run from 5 to 6:15 p.m. each week.
$21/person for 3 weeks of classes | Ages 13+
The cost of registration covers all three weeks of classes through the month of October. Class dates for this series are October 3, 10, and 17.
$7/person for 1 week of classes | Ages 13+
The cost of registration covers the cost of class on November 28.
$14/person for 2 weeks of classes | Ages 13+
The cost of registration covers two weeks of classes in December on December 5 and 12.
Rumba is considered to be one of the most beautiful Latin-style dances, earning its nickname as "The Dance of Love." The rumba is danced in a basic pattern of two quick side-to-side steps featuring an emphasis on off-beats and multiple rhythms. Classes run from 6:45 to 8 p.m. each week.
